Hanami - Cherry Blossom Viewing
Sakura is the most venerated flower in Japan. Sakura viewing has been celebrated for many centuries and takes a very prominent position in Japanese culture. You haven't experienced Japan until you see Sakura. The blooming period of Sakura is very short, from late March to early April. About a week after a Sakura tree first starts to bloom, the tree will be in full bloom for only a couple of days before they start lose their blossoms. I was lucky enough to be in Tokyo during the Sakura season this year. I saw the beautiful flowers in full bloom on 29 March, six days earlier than usual. What a gorgeous scene!
